The legendary "One does not simply walk into Mordor" speech was actually heavily rewritten by director Peter Jackson and the writers the very night before the scene was shot. Because Sean Bean didn't have enough time to memorize the lengthy new monologue, he taped a copy of the script directly to his knee. Whenever the camera cuts to him looking downward in solemn contemplation or frustration, he is actually just reading his lines directly off his leg, turning a practical problem into incredible acting.
