Early in production, Harrison Ford severely tore ligaments in his leg while filming the scene where his character runs through the dense forest. Instead of pausing production or getting immediate surgery, Ford refused medical treatment until the end of the shoot. He intentionally used the genuine pain and his real physical limp to make the character's grueling escape look flawlessly authentic.
