Johnny Depp famously based his iconic performance of Jack Sparrow on rock legend Keith Richards. In the third film, Disney actually managed to get Richards himself to cameo as Jack's father, Captain Teague. He appears playing a guitar and instantly commands the respect of every pirate in the room. It’s an incredible homage to the inspiration behind the character.
