Sound designer Gary Rydstrom had to invent what dinosaurs sounded like from scratch. To create the iconic, bone-chilling roar of the Tyrannosaurus Rex breaking out of its paddock, he layered the high-frequency squeal of a baby elephant, the deep growl of a tiger, and the low-frequency gurgle of an alligator. This acoustic engineering created one of the most recognizable and terrifying sound effects in cinema history.
