During a bar scene, a man with white hair asks Jamie Foxx's character his name and how it's spelled. Foxx spells it out, "D-J-A-N-G-O," and adds, "The D is silent." The man smiles and replies, "I know." That man is Franco Nero, the legendary Italian actor who starred in the original 1966 spaghetti western "Django." It is a brilliant, respectful passing of the torch directed by Quentin Tarantino.
